Like a Bouquet

by | 1979

Like a bouquet of colorful balloons our passions lift
us skyward.
The red, the yellow, blue and green –
All brightly shining in a sun-filled heaven.
Overwhelmed, we hasten to capture the moment.
With prickly fingers we grab for these ephemeral delights
and, one by one, our passions pop.
Our fantasies become thin air and we spiral downward,
caught in the grip of reality.
