Parousia

God fires a glance through man’s stained glass.
It beams bright, flashes blind. A piercing light
probing hearts hollowed hard, unmasking height
and depth. (The silent womb illumined fast
displays pride’s hidden pain, the harbored rash
enflamed.) Such cancer man nurses eaten with the fright
his wounds might be healed, eyes become soft. This plight
God wears; man’s curse … Divinity’s bloody task.

Creation groans, reels wildly, writhes in pain
as sons of God awake to claim rebirth.
God-man among his own, Son of Man slain:
By blood of Christ’s veins all breathe, life boasts new worth –
Time screams shrillest before Eternal reign.
We, too, cry as Jesus’ feet again touch Earth.
