Projection

Wished with you I could spend unmeasured time,
together, alone, you and I.
For searching your eyes I hope to find
the substance of which I’m made.
So let me ponder the depths of your being
and be no longer blind,
nor of my heart afraid.

I would like to see you stripped bare,
freed from your eight-to-five facade,
your entrances and exits calculated
for the appreciative, attentive nod.
For I sigh knowing
your self you cannot see.
And I fumble for fear of going too far
and losing what otherwise might be.
I would like to undress with you,
vulnerable, together, without a care.

So nice to be in your presence,
couldn’t think of a grander place.
Let us discover the mysteries that drive us:
the radiance, perhaps, upon your face
would be a start.
And what you see in me.
Be a light and chase away the dark.
For at the glance of your eyes
grows bright my heart.
